Hi, my name is Dawn and I'm addicted to "social networking." Specifically facebook and myspace. Has anyone else noticed that these social networking websites are like the drug of choice for today's up-to-date persona? You meet someone new, find out their last name and boom! go home and search for them on myspace or facebook. Try to find out all the dirt behind them before getting to know them better then proceed to form a full-on friendship based through the internet alone. I admit that I have googled a name or two in my past (my own included) to try to find out where an old friend might be, but now with the option of these websites, I can not only find out where they are, but I can find pictures, stats, all the good down low information not readily available through google. It is a crazy world out there.
Seriously, though, I can stay on the computer for hours searching for people and reading up on them. Its been a great way to get back in touch with people that I haven't seen in years, but when I stop to think about it, I get a little weirded out. Its like being in a room full of people, but you can't see any of them. Yikes.
The thought has crossed my mind a time or two that maybe I shouldn't be creating these profiles on the internet with so many crazy identity stealers out there, but I just can't seem to make myself delete the accounts. Is this what being a crack head feels like? Geez...
